But what the hell is a Perl Monger?
Well we're glad you asked. Because that identifies you as someone we want speak to. We are people who work, play with, or just generally like Perl. We want to expand or knowledge and experience of Perl and meet people who want to do the same.Why?
Because.But I don't know any Perl?
Absolutely great! We will help. Attend a meeting, we will have at least 1 presentation geared towards beginning/general perl programming and you can always ask questions. At the very least you can ask Christian, Dan or Dylan. One of them will be there at every meeting and they very happy to answer questions. We also have a mailing list to ask questions.We are also planning on a training program, once we have enough attendees. So if you are interested tell us.
Who runs it?
The current lead chump is Christian Brink. He helped run the Portland, OR PDX.PM for several years. He is joined by several volunteers (although most of them didn't have much say in their volunteer-ism) like Dylan Hardison and Dan LeWarne. But who are we kidding, <cough>it runs itself</cough>How do I join?
You just did. We've captured all your personal information and will hunt you down. We'll make you show up and flog you until you give a 20 minute lecture on the value of using closures in XP on a MVC.
In other words just show up when you want. No pressure. We won't make you give a talk or write an article.But what if I want to give a talk?
